"Well timed silence hath more eloquence than speech."

"I added some almonds, but then I decided the nuts should be caramelized, so I threw in a cup of sugar and some sherry and torched the hell out of it. I thought it'd taste better, you know, flambeed with candied nuts..."

ReplyDeleteIn response to your quote,
I have often lamented that we cannot close our ears with as much ease as we can our eyes.

:)
cool quote.. Hw very true indeed..
ReplyDeleteWhy speak when we can do so much with silence uh (;
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the nice quotes I’ve heard on silence. Being silent is more effective than speaking according to me of cos... Abraham Lincoln quoted “better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.” Hahah. I like that quote by the way. I think silence is beautiful. It kind of speaks for itself.
its a nice quote which is also true...I kind of like it too...
ReplyDeleteWe are heard clearly by others when we are silent compared to speaking...Silence has its own ways of speaking...
Hey nice quote. so true. though i've heard different variations of this many times before,like seriously many, i must say that i like the part "well-timed silence". Coz being silent can also mean shy/anti-social or worse still...a snob. but ya the truth still is that not many ppl know when's the right time to be silent and when not to....i guess tt's just sth wisdom brings..so oh well...i'll just admire this quote for now....
